Becoming a Master Student Planner 20102011 Dave Ellis Books

After five years of college,I found the irony of taking this first year the college orientation class at the end of college amusing. I have to say that there much of this book seemed like common sense I already learned in other classes. HOWEVER, there are gems of information and ideas that would have been really useful in my own schooling that make it well worth the read for anyone starting secondary education.

The only thing that I did not like about this book is that the tone of the book assumes the reader is a college student with all the free time and resources in the world to get through school. Yes, internships and extracurricular activities are options but but let's be real here. Most of us will be working through school and will barely have time for anything but school and work. The advice for actually for sustainably paying for school is nonexistent even though there is an entire chapter related to money.

Becoming a Master Student Planner 20102011 Dave Ellis Books Reviews

I was really nervous starting this class because I have been known to have horrible study skills for many reasons and even quit a study skills class in the past. But this book exceeded my expectations, even as an online class. It has very useful information and interactive assignments and has helped me a LOT. I am now much more organized and have SO MANY tools that I can continue to put into practice in several areas of my life whenever I want because of this book. My class instructor didn't even make us go through the entire book, so I know I can still go back on my own and learn more. It does not necessarily require an instructor, but if you need a lot of guidance at first (like me), I would recommend using it with a class.
This was in good condition. All pages were clean. Only issue I did have was the cover looked like it got sliced by a razor. But I did buy it for 15 dollars so I knew something would be wrong. The book is usable however therefore I would recommend if you don't want to pay 60$ to 80$
Rented this for my student success class.. I didn't expect to get much out of the class or this book because this is actually my last semester to earn my BA. I needed some misc. Units.. but this book helped me plan out the rest of my life. It also gives very helpful information with budgeting, planning, and test taking tips and tips on dealing with text anxiety!!! Good read and good buy.
Great to study for how to study and become a great student. I have a learning disability and I have ADD, and I have tried to go to graduate school twice. Both times it was to frustrating and I quit going after 1 semester. However I am back in an undergraduate program and have made it a year and going strong. This book helped me out so much and the following is what it has helped me to accomplish
My GPA went from a 2.3 from the 2 semesters to a 3.46 currently.
After completing my second semester I was awarded Deans List.
After my 1st year completed I was nominated and accepted on The National Society of Leadership and Success.
To go from my disability rendering me the opportunity to advance my education to succeeding beyond what I thought I could ever accomplish. This book is great!! I highly recommend it!!
This book indeed teach me lot's of wonderful thing about becoming a master student and even helped me get up in the mornings to get on time to school and prioritize my activities. However the digital book lets you read. It does not let you print out individual pages. I originally got the digital book to read because on another auction site, I bought a book that had somewhat some missing pages so could see what I was missing but it was a mistake.

Your instructor is going to want you to do the activities in the book and share with the class. When buying a used copy of it , make sure you verify with the seller that the book is complete before buying. If it's not, you may want a different approach to getting this book. I don't understand why books have to be so expensive. It's not even worth the rental price for what I paid for it since I dropped out of the class mid through the session due to difficulties.
This textbook was a requirement for one of my college classes, but I must say, I really enjoying using it. I loved the activity pages and tips in it, and all of the material was incredibly useful. My favorite parts of the book were the Discovery Wheel and the Learning Style Inventory. I feel that the material helped me get to know myself better, and gave me a better understanding of how I tend to learn things. Much of what I learned from this book is stuff I wish I had been taught in high school. I would absolutely recommend this to any college student.
First off, and most importantly, I wouldn't rent this as an E-Book if at all possible, ESPECIALLY if you're using it for a class. There are a lot of exercises on the book that require you to write inside the book itself, and having to print out a page, or find some way to get around not being able to physically manipulate the text is frustrating. Get the physical copy if you can.

Second of all, the book itself is pretty pointless if you have a good sense of self-awareness. For the everyday individual, most of this is common knowledge and this book ends up being little more than pages of busy work with only the occasional spark that comes with finding something new. Considering that this book is almost 80 dollars to buy, that's incredibly annoying.

However, if you haven't been in school for a while, or you aren't really sure of where you stand as a student, this might be a good buy. Not only does the text book go over things like how to study, how to manage time, and how to keep goals, but it also goes over things like suicide prevention, sexual health, and how to manage money.

Regardless, pretty much everyone whose buying this book is buying it because they have to, so none of the above really matters.
